Candle Care

Candle care is essential for maximizing the lifespan, safety, and enjoyment of your candles. Here are some tips for proper candle care:

1. **Trim the Wick:** Before each use, trim the wick of your candle to about 1/4 inch (0.6 cm). This helps prevent the flame from becoming too large and ensures a clean, even burn. A trimmed wick also reduces soot and smoke production.

2. **Keep the Wax Pool Clean:** Allow the wax to melt to the edges of the container each time you burn your candle. This prevents tunnelling and ensures that all the wax is used, maximizing the burn time. If the wax pool becomes too deep, extinguish the candle and let it cool before trimming the wick and relighting.

3. **Burn Candles Safely:** Always place candles on a heat-resistant surface and keep them away from flammable materials, drafts, and out of reach of children and pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended and extinguish it before leaving the room or going to sleep.

4. **Avoid Drafts:** Drafts can cause candles to burn unevenly or produce excess smoke. Place candles away from windows, fans, air vents, and high-traffic areas to ensure a consistent burn.

5. **Use Candle Accessories:** Consider using tools like wick trimmers and candle snuffers to help maintain your candles. Wick trimmers make it easier to trim wicks to the correct length, while a candle snuffer can extinguish a flame without creating smoke or wax splatter.

6. **Store Candles Properly:** Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. This helps prevent them from becoming discolored, melting, or losing their fragrance.

7. **Dispose of Candles Safely:** Once a candle has burned down to the bottom of the container, it's time to dispose of it. Let the wax cool completely, then remove any remaining wax and clean the container before recycling or repurposing it.

By following these candle care tips, you can ensure that your candles burn cleanly, safely, and last as long as possible, allowing you to fully enjoy their ambiance and fragrance.
